This simple small model of a Narrow Gauge Tank Engine started out as a 0-4-0 Shunting Locomotive first shown the 1930 4-7 manual and could be built with parts contained in the No.4 Outfit of that time. The construction had not gone far when I decided it could be made into "European Style" narrow gauge tank engine with a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement to this end I rather moved away from the original instructions. The model is built mainly with early 1970's blue parts and 1978 dark blue  parts. When the original plans were published there were no flexible plates in the Meccano system as can be seen in the illustration. The model has no functions other than working connecting rods when the loco is pushed along. More railway related models can be found in the album RAILWAY MODELS
